Abstract

Knowledge about physical activity and health in Physical Education Professionals is extremely important for their performance with excellence within their area of ​​expertise. The search for qualification and knowledge of professionals in the area brings enormous benefits to the Health area since it involves other areas forming a multiprofessional group. The objective of the present work was to bring concepts about Physical Activity and Health and to emphasize the importance of the knowledge of physical activity and health in Physical Education Professionals. As a methodology, a bibliographic review was carried out on studies using the Lilacs, Pubmed, Scielo and Medline databases, published between 1998 and 2016 using the terms: physical activity, health, development, capacitation, knowledge, concept; Some authors have found positive results in relation to the professionals' knowledge, but other studies demonstrate the lack of training to work in certain areas of Physical Education where pathologies are worked on. Future studies are necessary for better conclusions.
